A UNIQUE EXPERTISE 💥

Created using a unique vertical embroidery technique, each of our jewels is a fragment of ancestral know-how dating back to the first maharajas.

To keep it alive, we work with these exceptional craftsmen to revisit a technique originally used to create ceremonial garments and Indian army uniforms.

In this way, history is perpetuated and many Indian families continue to make a living from their art.

At NAHUA, the men embroider and the women assemble the jewelry. We often like to point out this gender inversion, which is normal in this South Asian society.

Discover our 2 types of embroidery 🧵 :

Aari embroidery :

  • Aari embroidery is a needlework technique practiced in various regions of India.

  • It involves the use of a fine-pointed hook called “Aari” or “Drum” to create intricate designs on a variety of fabrics such as silk, cotton and velvet.

  • Artisans use a push-and-pull motion of the needle through the fabric to create precise patterns, often embellished with beads and metallic threads.

  • Patterns created using Aari embroidery are often elaborate and rich in detail.

Zardozi embroidery :

  • Zardozi embroidery is an ancient form of ornamental embroidery originating in India.

  • It consists of embroidering decorative motifs on fabrics using metallic threads, often silver or gold, as well as pearls, precious stones and colored silk threads.

  • Zardozi designs are usually very elaborate and luxurious, often used to adorn ceremonial garments such as saris, wedding dresses and luxury clothing, and at NAHUA we use it to bring you quality jewelry.

It’s important not to detach the ball from the clasp!

We cannot guarantee a refund if the item is returned to us with the ball unstuck, as it will be considered damaged!

BAGS:

To care for your leather pouches, follow these tips:

  • Clean the pouch regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and dirt.

  • In case of stains, use a cloth slightly moistened with warm water and mild soap to gently clean the surface. Avoid harsh chemicals

  • Apply a quality leather care product to nourish and protect the leather. Choose a product suited to the type of leather in your pouch (smooth leather, suede, etc.).

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight or direct heat, as this can dry out and damage the leather.

  • Avoid contact with water wherever possible. If the pouch gets wet, let it dry naturally at room temperature. Do not dry near a heat source.

  • Store your pouch in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place when not in use. Use a cloth storage bag rather than plastic to allow the leather to breathe.
